Florence - Aquila Theater returns to Norton Auditorium to perform one of Shakespeare's darkest plays, MacBeth. Emptied by the prophecies of three mysterious witches, Macbeth's ambition to be King of Scotland leads him into a nightmarish world of evil, deceit, and murder. Monstrous actions run rampant as he and Lady Macbeth lose themselves to unstoppable drives of savagery and political outrage. Aquila breathes fresh life and fire into classic theatre featuring spectacular choreography, original music and stunning visuals. This classic tale of power and madness promises to be like nothing audiences have ever seen on Norton's stage. The performance will be on Friday, February 10; at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students, and $10 for general admission. These can be purchased at Kennedy Douglass Center for the Arts, ColdWater Books, Pegasus, and the UNA Bookstore. This UNA sponsored event is funded by the Albert S Johnston Endowment through the UNA English Department. For more information contact the Office of University Events at 256.765.4658.
