FLORENCE, AL – University Health and Well-Being along with Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of North Alabama have partnered on an initiative to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to make responsible decisions regarding alcohol, including not drinking, while fostering a culture of campus safety. “Ghouls and Guidelines: Safe Sips” is an alcohol-awareness program designed to provide students with essential education and experiential learning opportunities surrounding alcohol consumption.
“As the holiday season approaches, it is crucial that, as a campus, we address choices related to alcohol use among college students,” said Anna Leigh Rossi, Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life at UNA. “‘Ghouls and Guidelines’ aims to educate and equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their well-being.”
Scheduled for 5 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the UNA Student Recreation Center, the program offers a series of interactive activities that encourage participation and critical thinking. Through these engaging activities, students will gain valuable insights into healthy choices and learn about resources that are available to them on campus, in the community, and throughout the country.
“The program emphasizes a proactive, individual-level approach to education and awareness, aiming to cultivate a supportive environment where student well-being is prioritized,” said Ashley Cook, Graduate Assistant for Health and Well-Being.
