Una Math Student Presents Research At Troy Mathfest

FLORENCE, Ala. - A University of North Alabama student was able to present original research Troy University's MathFest. Undergraduate math major, John Carr, was selected to speak at the 8th annual festival which is a research conference focused on undergraduate mathematics.

The conference was Saturday, April 11, at Troy University. Carr's talk titled, "Groups, Quasigroups and the Sudoku Property," focused on his own original findings in non-associative structures and combinatorics.

Carr, who is being mentored by Dr. Mark Greer of the mathematics department, applied for and received a travel grant from Mathfest to speak at the event.
